Animal Shelter Committee Hears Bids Are Over Budget by about $250,000

The Animal Shelter Committee met on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, to go over the bids received for the new animal shelter building. County Mayor Skip Taylor said at the end of the day, the bid came in at $1,905,000. They went in and took some of the deducts or the cheaper versions to get it down to $1,865,406. The proposed budget was about $1.5 million. It was suggested they could finance the amount over $1.5 million but that is a decision by the county commission.
