Marquitta White Celebrates her 40th Year of Service at the Library
Last Wednesday, October 11th, 2023, the Somerville-Fayette County Library held a reception to honor longtime employee Marquitta White. Marquitta started at the library on October 1, 1983, when Mrs. Julia Blackwood was the librarian. Other librarians she has served with are Mrs. Alida Gover, Ms. Laura Winfrey, and now Sissy Dowdle-Rosser. Marquitta was presented with a beautiful plaque by the staff who are pictured, left to right, Nikki Escobar, Debbie German, Sissy Dowdle-Rosser, Marquitta, Mary Anne Tomlinson, and Anita Brown. She is serving her 40th year of service.
