A joint effort by officers with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, 25th Judicial Drug Task Force, West Tennessee Drug Task Force, and the Tipton County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit led to drugs being found at Fayette Ware High School and a faculty member being charged.  Jireh Washington, who is the basketball coach, was cited for simple possession of Schedule VI on school property, and violation of a Drug Free School Zone. Also, located in the staff member’s vehicle was a brown 9mm handgun. There were also approximately 12 lockers that search dogs alerted on inside of the school but there was nothing located in the lockers.  Read more details in next week’s Falcon!
