Rep. Ron Gant elected as 8th Congressional District delegate to Republican National Convention

State Rep. Ron Gant, R-Piperton, was elected last week as a delegate for former President Donald J. Trump to the Republican National Convention. Gant received 23,404 votes in the Republican primary election for delegates committed to Trump from Tennessee’s 8th Congressional District. “I’m very proud to have been elected as a delegate to the Republican National Convention,” Gant said. “Thank you to West Tennessee and District 8 for your placing your trust in me. I look forward to casting my vote for President Trump in Milwaukee to bring economic prosperity, a secure border and common sense back to our great country.” The convention will take place July 15-18 in Milwaukee, Wisc. Gant, along with other delegates, will help choose the Republican Party’s nominee for president.
