The glow of the candles will flicker in the windows of the sanctuary of the Historic First Presbyterian Church of Somerville on Christmas Eve. A welcome is extended to the entire community to join us for and be touched again by the simple story of Christ’s birth, Christmas Carols and joy of Christmas. The title of Dr. Thomas Pickering’s sermon is “Do you see what I see.” The annual Christmas Eve Candlelight Service will be from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. This special traditional event will include a celebration of the Christmas Story in verse and song from the Gospel of Luke, Christmas Carols, and Special Christmas Music. Christmas is a time of sharing, we hope that we can share this special time with all who are touched by the season. Dr. Pickering said, “Christmas Eve Worship is a special tradition not only because memories of Christmas past are remembered but it is a time for families and especially children to create new memories for the future.” For further information: Church Office or Dr. Pickering (465-2827), 12940 South Main Street, Somerville, Tennessee 38068.
