County Commission Votes to Reject the School Board Revised Budget

The Fayette County Commission met on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. The big item was the school board revised budget.  County Mayor Skip Taylor stated either we accept the budget as presented or if not, it goes back to the school board for 10 days to revise. This budget gets us through the year with an okay fund balance and increases salaries for teachers by 10% and staff by 5%. With several questions, the county commission voted to reject and send back to the school board to revise.
