Fayette-Ware High alumni travels around the world

Dr. Patricia Tharp (Class of 1980) recently completed a tour around the world after visiting Antarctica. She first caught the travel bug in 2000 after being invited by “People to People” to be an anesthesia ambassador to Cuba. Initially, she thought they had made a mistake in selecting her. She had never heard of them before.
Upon contacting “People to People”, they informed her that she had been selected to represent the USA as an anesthesia ambassador. Consequently, she traveled to Cuba and represented the United States. As a result, she has visited all seven continents and over 100 countries. She plans to continue as a world traveler.
Dr. Tharp credits her high school teachers Ms. Spears, Mr. Turner and her sister Dr. Linda Tharp for helping her to develop a global prospective.
