Second Annual EAA Youth Camp Takes Wing at Fayette County Airport

The Fayette County Airport once again hosted the second annual Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 182 Youth Summer Camp. This year, the camp drew an impressive group of sixteen young aviators eager to learn about the various facets of aviation, from fabric work to basic flight. The Summer Camp is sponsored in part by Ford Blue Oval, sponsors of Thunder Over Fayette County Airshow, and friends of the airport. Under the guidance of seasoned EAA members, the campers immersed themselves in hands-on activities that covered fabric work, sheet metal construction, electricity, and introduction to basic flight. This week-long program was designed to inspire the next generation with the opportunities available in aviation. After the weeklong school, the campers were treated to a Young Eagles flight.
