Fayette Falcon moving from one Family to another

The Fayette Falcon has been purchased on October 2, 2024, by the Mirror Exchange that publishes newspapers in Milan, Lexington, Martin, Union City, Humboldt, Trenton and Brownsville. The Mirror Exchange is headed by Victor Parkins and Scarlett Elliott, members of the Parkins family that have published the Mirror Exchange for nearly 60 years. “I was excited to find the Mirror Exchange Group to take over the reins of The Fayette Falcon. They are a family oriented business that understands that The Falcon is a community paper that features our local residents, reports on our local meetings, and local news,” stated Carolyn Rhea. “I could not sell the paper unless I was sure the legacy will continue.” Carolyn and the staff will remain with the paper and look forward to working with the new owners. “The Fayette Falcon has a proven track record of serving the people of Fayette County, and our goal is to maintain that same level of excellence for our readers,” Parkins said. “In the short time that I have known Ms. Carolyn, I have grown to admire and respect the legacy built by she and her late husband, Butch. They have served the community for a very long time and presented the news in a fair and positive light. Ms. Carolyn has an exceptional staff that knows what they’re doing; readers confirm that they are good at their jobs. We are very excited about serving the citizens of Fayette County.” Pictured, left to right, Scarlet Elliott, Carolyn Rhea (holding Butch Rhea’s photo) and Victor Parkins.
