Plane formerly owned by Elvis spotted at Walmart
Recently a jet that was formerly owned by Elvis Presley was spotted at Oakland Wamart. Elvis purchased this jet in late 1976 for $840,000, a few months before his passing, to travel with his staff. After Elvis’s death, the jet was sold and abandoned at an airport in Roswell, New Mexico, where it sat for about 41 years.
Aircraft enthusiast Jimmy Webb purchased the jet in 2023 and, unable to afford the estimated $6 million to make it fly again, decided to convert it into a road-going vehicle.
The jet was one of 202 production JetStar airplanes produced by Lockheed. The original jet’s interior remains in its 1970s state, featuring velvet and gold accents. The wings were removed and sold as collectible tokens to help fund the project, while the rest of the fuselage was placed on a chassis to create an RV.
